God is Good

Our heads are spinning because of what has happened already in 2013.  Let me back up to January.

In January we realized that we were getting back a significant amount from our tax return.  I casually mentioned to Cory that maybe it was enough for a down payment for a house and he agreed.  We looked in to getting an FHA loan and were pre-approved almost immediately.

In February we began an actual search and looked at several houses and found out that the market in the area that we were looking is absolutely nuts!  People are putting offers in for a house at up to 40,000 OVER asking price.  We began putting offers in for houses we had never seen.

In March we began to get discouraged as prices were going up and we were thinking that maybe we need to save more money to buy a house in a couple more years.  Still putting offers in on houses that we had never seen.

The first week of April my sister and parents had come to visit us.  My parents and I looked at houses on April 5th as they did not know the area in which we were moving and wanted to see it.  I looked at 3 houses with them.  There was one house that had things that both Cory and I were looking for.  I liked the house as did my parents and we said to put an offer in on it.  After I left I felt more and more like that was our house. 
April 6th our bid was submitted.
April 7th we found out that someone had out bid us.
April 8th We were both extremely upset and I had emailed my realtor about giving up and not buying in the near future.  Later that night we got a call from our realtor telling us that the other couple had backed out and we were the next in line, but we had to come up 5,000 in order to get the house.  We agree that we would do that.
April 9th -April 23 We were given a ton of paperwork to sign and get back to our lender and escrow etc.
April 10th was my birthday and we scheduled the home inspection
April 11th Cory sees the house the first time at the home inspection.  Cory loves the house!
April 17th The appraisal comes back as just over what we had offered for the house.
April 24th Find out that the closing costs originally estimated for us was a mistake and it was really over 3,000 less than what we were planning on.  Also sign the documents for the house for escrow and the lender.

Estimated closing date April 30th!

For those who don't like to do math that means we will have bought a house with escrow and everything within 22 days!  That is unheard of from everyone we have talked to.  Cory and I know that God has completely provided for us and HE has made this happen so quickly and so smoothly.  We know that He has provided this house and that He has great plans for us.  Including convincing our lender who is not a believer has actually said to me that he has never seen anything like this and that he is starting to believe because of the way this has gone for us.  All Cory and I can do is continually say God provides and God is Good!
