A Little Update

As some of you know and probably the majority don't know I am in the interviewing process for a high school director position. This would be an addition to my current job. It is a part time position and it would be at the Yorba Linda Presbyterian Church. I have had two interviews with their committee and I have had a theology interview with the head pastor. It is officially down to one other person and I. The next step is to check my references and then they will get together and talk and pray and then I will be notified as to whether I will get as I like to call it an audition. I would come in and teach the high school class. I am still in shock that a church might actually want me to lead. It would definitely be a big difference in churches since currently the church I go to (which Cory's dad is the preacher) has non-instrumental music and women are not allowed to lead. Cory has been completely supportive and is actively helping me seek this position. I have mixed feelings because it would mean for at least a little while Cory and I would probably not go to church together and his church is making great strides in changing and I was excited to be a part of it. however this new church i would do what I have wanted to do for so long, and be encouraged to do it and not to mention it would mean I could get a new car which would be AWESOME.

Secondly, I am very excited my mom is coming down to visit, and I cant wait to see her!

Third (and this is for Jerry) Cory and I are doing amazing. We spent the whole weekend hanging out and watching movies it was the best us time we have spent in a while. We are running around doing everything we need to do so often that it was nice to have a weekend to just hang out. We are enjoying spending more time together than just planning events...Don't worry we are doing great even if he couldn't do anything while he had the chicken pox.

Lastly on Saturday I was part of a skit team who performed a Lifehouse skit for a program called Celebrate recovery and it went really well. I will have our version up when I can but you can check it out on youtube.com when you search for Lifehouse Everything Skit.

What people get away with now

(This is a Spoiler Alert for those of you who haven't finished The Bachelor).

I watch The Bachelor pretty regularly, and when I saw who was going to be the bachelor this time I was extremely excited because he was amazing in the bachelorette and I was excited that he would get his happy ending. I picked Melissa out the first night (as did Cory) that she was going to get to the end. So imagine how excited I was for her when he picked her and proposed. My happiness (for a person I've never met, but whatever) was quickly dashed when at the show called "The Bachelor: After the final rose" Jason said that the chemistry has been different and he wants to take his decision back and choose the other girl. So while on the show he broke up with the woman he had proposed to and told that her that he would try everything to make her happy and that he loved her. Then he confessed his love for the other girl (Molly) he had originally sent home. Molly who is shocked by this says that they can get back together.

This makes me so sad...not because the girl I wanted to win didn't win but because this is behavior that Jason demonstrated is acceptable in today's society. He kept saying that he needed to follow his heart and that if it were his son asking for advice in this kind of situation then he would tell him to follow his heart. To me this is crap! Yes you should follow your heart to a point, but you need to make hard decisions to stay and fight for someone you love or you can leave when things don't go exactly as you hoped. He kept saying that the chemistry was different, well of course it is going to be different people are jetting you around the world and you don't get to go on fantasy dates but what is even better real life begins. It makes me so mad that the only advice you hear is to follow your heart...well you should also listen to your head and make the DECISION to work towards a real relationship. Sorry but passion and excitement will fade as you get to know each other better and you need to make a choice to do things to keep that going and you also need a fountain of trust and understanding and that is something that many people do not understand.

What also upsets me about the situation is that Molly just accepts him back. She has been trying to get over this heartache because he chose someone else over her and then after 6 weeks it all just melts away because he changed his mind and you accept him for that? That is not okay. What kind of example is that? She might become someones step mom and she just set the example that he can go around with other girls and it is okay because they will accept him once he is "sorry". My prayer after watching this is that my niece (and my future kids) will have enough self-esteem to say no if she finds a guy who isn't worthy of her. I pray that our family can help give support and encouragement and provide such an example that she will understand that she deserves better than second best. Also that she loves God and that he will show her that person when she is ready and when he is ready as well. Lastly that this stuff is not acceptable in her eyes!

A Chicken Pox Update

Well they are getting worse and Cory has in a way turned into his grandpa. Cory has turned to pacing. I will leave for whatever I have to do like church and when I come back and check on him he is pacing. We went to his parents house yesterday and I think it was the first day he was somewhat comfortable, he actually smiled and laughed a little yesterday. He hasn't really kept food down since Saturday morning. Unfortunately he couldn't keep liquids down for over 12 hours.

Just as an FYI to the guys out there stop thinking that the world is going to end when your sick. From every single woman I talked to this has been the pattern. Men seem to think that when they are sick that we need to take care of them, but when we are sick who cares. Guys here is some advice when your significant other is sick then take care of them the way you want to taken care of because otherwise you wont get the best treatment we can give you.

Cory has the Plague

Cory has what he is calling the plague. He has the feared Chicken Pox! I would post pictures if he would let me because it is really really bad. He came down with a fever on Thursday night of 103.5 and when it broke he started getting this little blisters. I thought it was just because he was so hot that they were like fever blisters. The next day he told me they were getting worse and when he went to the doctor she told him that he has the pox. He cant be around kids, elderly, and pregnant women. Which means the plans for the weekend had to be canceled because they involved a kids party and spending time with his grandparents and then he was going to go to Nascar which he wont know the crowd. He is totally bummed and i can already foresee him getting restless since he cant do anything all week. It is unfortunate timing so if you know him and you have had the chicken pox give him a call or text this week because he will need it.

Two days of no fun to end in disappointment

So yesterday I learned quickly that the not eating part isn't nearly as bad as the crappy stuff you have to drink in order to "prepare" for the procedure. I got extremely sick off of the first medication so that I couldn't have anything that would stay down (not even Jello). then I tried the drink I was supposed to drink a gallon of....lets just say that didn't stay down either. I e-mailed my doctor (1 feature I really like about Kaiser) and within the hour I had another prescription to pick up to help the nausea. Needless to say I was up until about 3. (one trick that I liked is to drink chicken broth right after as it was the only thing to cover up the terrible taste.) Well today Cory took me to get this done and it took only 6 nurses looking at me and 6 pokes later to get an IV started. I remember very little about the procedure but I know I was awake for portion of it, as time is passing I am remembering less and less. However they did not find anything to appear to look like crohn's. They did take biopsies and we will know the results in about a week of the microscopic tests. However this is so disappointing to me because I have had so many issues I just want answers at this point and it is really frustrating to finally have a diagnosis and then to say that it doesn't look like i have it, especially when the doctor said that she thinks I probably have a moderate to sever case. The test result may come back that I have it and the medication I am on is working but who knows what that test will say. Finally since they biopsied part of my colon I am in pain and they said that mild abdominal pain is normal but sever is not and I go back and forth so all in all today was very frustrating and disappointing.

I am HUNGRY

As some of you know I have been going through stomach problems and have been to bad doctors which has delayed a diagnosis of what exactly is going on. Well on Thursday I went to my new GI doctor (my insurance was switched to Kaiser on the 1st of January). This doctor actually knew what she was talking about and was willing to sit and answer all of the questions that I have had over the past 6 months (or longer). She gave me the diagnosis of Crohn's and possibly there could be more issues, but she wanted to do a colonoscopy to see how diseased my intestines are and if I am on the right medication. So when I called to make that appointment they got me in tomorrow. So as some of you know you cant eat for a day and a half. So today I have on a clear liquid diet, and tomorrow I am not allowed to have anything to drink from 6am on to probably 5pm. Needless to say I am hungry! I want breakfast! I am praying that I can get answers and see how bad my case is. The doctor thinks that I have a moderate to possibly severe case of Crohn's. Let's hope that she can get me on the right medication and that it isn't steroids.

Last Set of Cruise

Here are the pictures that my parents bought for me. My favorite it the one of the whole family. That was the night that we put all our formal wear on took the picture. Then we all changed back in to our normal clothes.
